snow is falling and just like that the world transforms into something soft and gentle and lovely.

watching the snow coming down, outlining every branch and twig, piling along the lines of rope of the hammock, the railing, the bark on the trees.
ahhh my eyes feast as dark comes.

Here, too. Our first snow of the season. If the Boy were home, instead of a 4-hour drive away, I'd be utterly contented, but as it is, I'll worry about ice until he's home safe. So glad you're getting a beautiful storm. Thinking of you.

I love snow too. Hated winters in Germany where it was just always grey and rainy and kind of around zero with snow here and there, but it's mostly slushy.
But a nice dry cold, and a thick fluffy layer of snow - it's just so beautiful! I'm sure looking forward to sitting by the gas fire in our new house, and being able to see the snowflakes drifting past the windows while I drink my hot chocolate.

You like snow; You like "Snow Poems" ?

She Tells Her Love While Half Asleep

Robert Graves

She tells her love while half asleep,
In the dark hours,
With half words whispered low;
As earth stirs in her winter sleep
And puts out grass and flowers
Despite the snow,
Despite the falling snow.

and you surely know Robert Frost's
"Stopping By Woods" ?

Growing up in LA, I never saw snow fall. I didn't witness it until I was 22 years old on a ski trip in Tahoe. Now where I live I get it once and a while and it is soooooo incredible and bright and quiet and magical. So glad you got to watch the snow today. It makes my heart happy.

So sorry I wasn't here for you earlier, but I was weak, I admit. I'm sorry about your cycle. It totally blows, the whole feeling like you are out of options, for time, money, and eggs, or whatever! And yet, you can still see the beauty in life. I love that.
