Snow!

Beautiful snow is falling
the hemlocks are frosted with white, as is every horizontal surface, each divot in the bark on the trees, each upturned leaf, the knotted rope of the hammock... it is lovely.
The flakes fall and swirl--most are small, some the size of fingertips, the back clearing looks like a snow globe.

I am flu-y and home today. Feel like crapola. BUT I get to see the woods like this, and that is truly magical.

ohhhh wwowoowowwwww! I would love to have snow. In Texas it means NO work and NO school and OMG SNOWWWWWWWW! haha!

Today is a nice cool (cool meaning only 64 degrees) fall day. I loved walking outside this morning.

Thanks for the award!! I will certainly play, but it probably won't be until Sunday. Going out of town for the weekend.

Take care,
bb

Isn't snow one of the most peaceful and serene things to enjoy while safe in the warmth of your home? I live in the frozen tundra (aka MN) and I love freshly fallen snow. You just described it beautifully. I closed my eyes and could imagine it.

Have a good Friday and get well soon.

Well, while it's super shitty that you have the flu, the silver lining to the flu cloud is that you have the whole day to look at the snow. It sounds magical -- I love the falling snow and how it looks when it first comes down. Feel better soon!

Feel better soon!

I love to look at snow - however, I am the type that sleeps with a down comforter all summer. And two with a space heater all winter. I am not much for cold - I would love to admire it from a distance...

I am so not ready for snow yet. It sounds beautiful...but I'm a fair weathered gal. Hope you feel better soon. I sent you an email. Let me know if you didn't get it.

Seen all over facebook that the snow had arrived in your neck of the woods. Been thinking of you and trying to check in when a free moment arrives. They are so fleeting these days. I just wanted to say hello and tell you how I love your mind. Love reading your words. Am sorry you feel cruddy and I hope it passes quickly. Kiss.

Snow -- wonderful. I hope it brings a quiet, peaceful night made strangly lighter, with only a little wind to rustle the trees and a few owls. I love the light of snow at night, it's magic.

Dear Kate -- you are so kind to keep up with the Liam blog. I appreciate more than I can say your kind words and thoughtful thoughts, and I really look forward to reading them. Today in a moment of surfing I saw this cape of leaves and thought immediately of you. (http://imaginechildhood.com/blog/)
I thought it was real leaves at first. Have you ever tried that thing where you cut small branches of newly turned leaves and put them in a bucket of water and glycerin for a week or so in a cold but light spot? And the leaves take up the glycerin and become supple, like the strangest more fragil fabric you've ever seen? Anyway, I think that would be a delightful thing. Enjoy, enjoy your snow. Rest easy and feel better. Love,
Elizabeth

I didn't see snow fall from the sky until I was 22 years old. Now that I live in a place where it snows 2 or 3 times a year it is so fun and wonderous. In my mind's eye I walk out the door and fling out my arms and twirl in the snow, catching flakes on my tongue. Thanks for the snow break and I hope you are feeling better with your snuffly self.

Get well soon! Glad you have some beauty surrounding you to distract you from the miseries of being sick.
