tonight the full moon
will cast shadows through my woods
like long lost sunlight
and owls will fall from trees
silently, like leaves, like wind
into the clearing, hunting mice
and I will lie there
awake in the strangeness of light and dark
of midnight and noon
and I will watch the sky and the shadows move
while the trees stand so still
and I will feel dreams come to my doorway,
images tangled with memory and hope
and I will wish myself to sleep
and I will sleep
I will sleep
I always do.

MrBeep and I were thinking about walking in the moonlight tonight. There is a place in the wooded park where the moon shines bright on the path. We'll stop there tonight, wave and the moon and say Hi to Kate. Maybe you'll catch our reflection.
Beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for sharing that and I am glad to have read it.
Lovely!!
I don't know what calendar I was looking at, but I mistakenly thought the full moon was Wednesday and took my moon remedy that night! (Awaiting further instructions from my ND now). I, too, will think of you when I look up at the moon tonight...Sweet dreams!
Just lovely. Thank you.
Beautiful. I love full moons.
so beautiful... you are quite the poet, Kate. just lovely.
So lovely, Kate -- and makes me feel like fall!
Just wanted to let quickly let you know that I'm a Shady Grove-r, so let me know if you have any questions about the place (not really a "place," but you know what I mean).
wonderful poem. What a talent. Thank you.
