reassurance

So on monday afternoon I had a renal ultrasound,
and yes, there appear to be stones in both sides. Yay. But no current obstructions. A visit with a specialist scheduled for tomorrow morning. This guy is an interventionist, I am not. We shall see.

But while we were there getting ultrasounded, we asked if we could see our little one since we were freaking out, and the tech just simply did! And she printed us some pictures.
Our first successful pants-on, wandless ultrasound resulting in an image of a live fetus. Holy moly. Umbilical cord. Placenta. Baby. Heartbeat.
We both cried. And I offered to kiss the tech.

So as we move towards Monday's OB appointment, I feel really good that inthismoment all is well. It is starting to feel a little more real. Fabulous persistent insane exhaustion. Barfyfeeling icky evenings. All very reassuring.
And, an umbilical cord. Magical.

Wow.
Seeing the baby has to be the best outcome from a really crappy experience that I can imagine.
That is awesome. Truly.

Hurrah for compassionate US techs! Sorry about the stones, and hoping you don't need to go through any procedures you don't want (but really glad you're seeing the specialist. I worry, you know!)

Baby. You're growing a baby.

It just doesn't get much cooler than this, eh?

Yay! So happy the tech gave you a peek! I hope the stones don't cause any more issues...

It is what it is said...

So happy you can breathe in relief of seeing your little one.

I hope you'll indulge us and scan and post the u/s image :)

Good luck with the doc and I hope there is a treatment course that works for you.

That's so cool Kate!!! I'm so pleased to hear that there was something nice that came from the horrible stones. (I hope there's none over 1cm in there you poor dear. Are they thinking of a stent?)

Yay for healthy baby news!

It's sort of bittersweet that you had to have a renal ultrasound to get to see the baby! But I'm sure it was worth it! Awesome for you. Those kidney stones will suck, but you'll pass them and move on. Keep the pain meds handy - you'll need them.

So glad the ultrasound tech was able to let you see the wee one. :-) Hoping and praying that the danged stones can be easily managed with as little problems and pain to you as possible. Looking forward to more fab news on Monday.
