if wishes were fishes....

fuck.

So, go read the previous post if you haven't.
They cannot schedule me until July for my one day assessment and I must be unmedicated.
So, what the heck do I do? Put off a cycle? Maybe. But...

Cost for IVF + ICSI (required) + PGD? Let's just say it's just shy of 20K (not including medications and monitoring) no matter how we slice it. Upfront. And if I use all of my available credit, we could maybe do one cycle. One. This is sort of what I expected, I was just hoping for a slightly less costly option...

Not sure what to do. Took the July appointment slot just in case.
Wish I could have gone this fabulously fortuitously unmedicated week to retroactively justify the lack of medication, and to see if the rest is just a pipedream.

Wish my folks here offered any PGD, even polar body testing.

Wishing things were different.

I am so sorry Kate. That is a hell of a lot of money, knew it was expensive, but didnt realise just how much.
As far as what you should do, I dont know, I am not in any position to advise I am afraid, sorry.

Wow. That is a lot of money. IVF was never an option for us for religious reasons, but I knew when I first read the costs that, even if it were, we'd never be able to afford it. We live credit free and there is no way we could just pony up that kind of money. If we had no insurance, with meds, our IUI cycles would run about $4000 and that would have been something close to out of our range, at a pop.

20K... Wow. I am so sorry. I really hope that you wont need that route and that you will soon have your little miracle.

Ugh. I'm sorry. The suckiest part of all this suckiness is how often money is the determining factor as to the level of care we can get.

Thinking of you.

Ugh. That is indeed pretty steep. I think that I would also consider any of the clinics/options for a 3-cycle plus financing.

There are many clinics that use this financing service and you could always get an estimate of the cost. The amount seems steep, but it is the same as a car payment when you get right down to it. If you can afford a car payment, maybe you can afford to finance an IVF cycle.

It sucks that money is such a prominent player in all of this. When really, it shouldn't be at all.

Sweet friend, I know just how you feel on so many levels. Barriers and limitations are getting me down a bit. Why does everything have to be a struggle. Ugh!

Here's hoping you and I overcome these barriers to the things we want to and need to do, and that we can move forward.

Blessings!

Wow -- that is a lot to take in in one day, and I'm just reading about it. I can't imagine what it is like for you to process all this new (and changing) info and try to weigh the alternatives. Peace, dear one. Peace. I wish for you a good night's sleep and a clearer view of the path in the morning. If I'm following right, this month is this month and you work with mother nature and maybe you won't need to cross these other bridges. I respectfully submit to the universe: this would be a great outcome.

Thank you so much for all your kind words this week (and always). They mean so much.
